At the heart of the Ecco LT1 is the brand-new ECCO LYTR Foam — an advanced, ultra-lightweight rebound foam that is built directly into the outsole structure using ECCO's proprietary FLUIDFORM™ technology. Developed over three decades, FLUIDFORM™ involves directly injecting cushioning material into the shoe mould, creating a seamless, integral connection between the midsole and the leather upper. This process eliminates the need for gluing or stitching, resulting in a shoe that is more flexible, more durable, and lighter than traditionally constructed footwear. The result is a midsole that moves with your foot naturally, returning energy with every step and reducing fatigue across the full 18 holes.
The ECCO LYTR Foam is smoothly combined within the midsole with soft PHORENE™ — ECCO's own advanced PU compound. PHORENE™ provides the structured, contoured cushioning platform that wraps around the foot for a tailored, supportive feel. The new E-DTS™ NET outsole represents the next generation of ECCO's celebrated E-DTS® (Dynamic Traction System) design. Featuring over 800 individual traction angles across its surface, the E-DTS™ NET delivers exceptional multi-directional grip — crucial for maintaining a stable stance during the swing, on wet grass, undulating fairways, and sloped lies. The outsole is constructed from durable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which provides excellent resistance to wear while keeping weight to a minimum. The upper of the LT1 is crafted from premium ECCO Performance leather — a breathable, supple, and highly durable material that has been a hallmark of ECCO's footwear for decades. Integrated within the upper is a waterproof membrane that keeps your feet dry in wet conditions, whether from morning dew, light rain, or damp rough. The leather is treated to resist water penetration while remaining soft and pliable for all-day comfort. Incorporated invisibly within the structure of the LT1 upper, X-TENSA INVISIBLE Technology provides an internal lateral stability system that reinforces the shoe during dynamic movement. During the golf swing, the foot undergoes significant lateral forces — particularly during the downswing and follow-through phases — which can compromise stability if the upper flexes excessively. The X-TENSA system counteracts this by maintaining the structural integrity of the upper without adding visible bulk or stiffness. The Ecco LT1 features a removable and washable OrthoLite® insole, renowned in the footwear industry for its outstanding long-term cushioning performance. OrthoLite® foam retains up to 95% of its original thickness even after extended use — far outperforming standard EVA insoles that compress and lose cushioning over time. The breathable, open-cell structure of OrthoLite® also helps wick moisture away from the foot, keeping the interior of the shoe fresher for longer. Practically, the removable design serves a dual purpose: it allows you to wash the insole to maintain hygiene, and when removed, it provides additional volume inside the shoe — effectively allowing wearers with wider feet to adjust the fit to their needs.
