The G440 MAX HL is the most forgiving model in the G440 driver family, purpose-built for players seeking higher launch, maximum distance, and extreme shot tolerance. It features a hotter face for greater speed and distance, paired with a lighter overall system weight and a 46" shaft that promotes faster clubhead speed, higher launch, and longer carry. The Free Hosel and Carbonfly Wrap crown save weight to create PING's lowest CG in a driver to date, increasing forgiveness while delivering a more muted, pleasing sound at impact.

High Launch (HL) Build

The G440 MAX HL utilises a lighter back weight, the PING Alta Quick graphite shaft, and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip to deliver more ball speed with extreme forgiveness. The 46" shaft length promotes maximum distance. In testing, slower-swing-speed players gained on average nine yards with the HL build. The entire HL system is approximately 15% lighter than a standard build, enabling effortlessly faster swing speeds and more consistent results.

Free Hosel — Lowest CG Ever

The Free Hosel technology removes weight from a section of the hosel and redistributes it to push mass lower in the head, creating PING's deepest centre of gravity in a driver to date. This lower CG is positioned closer to the force line, delivering more distance and fairway-finding forgiveness on off-centre strikes. The result is a driver that works harder for you on every tee shot, whether you catch it perfectly or miss the sweet spot slightly.

Hotter, Thinner Face

A reduced face height enables PING's engineers to make the face thinner and hotter, generating more ball speed and greater consistency across the entire clubface — including the high heel region where many slower-swing-speed players tend to make contact. This design advancement ensures that even off-centre hits retain impressive speed and carry distance, making the G440 MAX HL one of the most forgiving drivers on the market.

Carbonfly Wrap Crown — Pleasing Sound

The Carbonfly Wrap crown saves weight that is strategically redistributed to help lower the centre of gravity, ensuring maximum forgiveness on mis-hits and contributing to the G440's characteristically muted, pleasing sound at impact. This advanced carbon construction is lighter than a titanium crown, freeing up mass to be placed exactly where it benefits ball flight the most — deeper and lower in the head for higher launch and less spin.

Shot Shaping — Adjustable Back Weight

A 29-gram back weight provides the high moment of inertia needed for exceptional forgiveness and can be adjusted into the Draw, Fade, or Neutral position to influence shot shape and trajectory. The HL build uses a lighter version of this weight to further reduce overall system mass, enabling greater swing speed and more ball speed for players who need every advantage off the tee.

These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances. Standard swingweight is based on the ALTA Quick 35 shaft; ALTA Quick 45 is 1 point higher. Standard length for the HL (High Launch) build is 46". Standard length is based on the Alta CB Blue 50 shaft for other builds. Standard length with PING Tour 2.0 Chrome or Black, Mitsubishi Tensei 1K, and Project X Denali Red shafts is 45.5". Standard swingweight with Project X Denali Red 60 is 1 point higher than standard. Standard swingweight with Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 65 is 2 points higher than standard. Lie angle is an average of the five adjustable loft positions indicated on the hosel.
