The PING G440 hybrid is built around a new, shallower and thinner face construction that delivers faster ball speed, a higher peak height and greater distance with more stopping power. Each hybrid in the range produces a distinct ball flight, from the fade-biased 2-hybrid through the neutral mid-hybrids to the draw-inducing 5-, 6- and 7-hybrids that blend seamlessly into a set of irons. The lineup adds a new PING Tour 2.0 Black 90 shaft option for a lower, more piercing trajectory. Loft is adjustable ±1.5° and lie can be set up to 3° flatter than standard, so a fitter can dial in launch, spin and dispersion to match your swing. Every G440 hybrid ships with a protective headcover.
The G440 hybrid introduces a Free Hosel design that removes excess structure from the neck of the club. Combined with the lightweight Carbonfly Wrap crown, the saved weight is repositioned low in the head to pull the centre of gravity down and back. A lower, deeper CG raises launch angle and increases forgiveness, keeping ball speed high even on strikes away from the centre of the face.
The carbon composite Carbonfly Wrap crown saves significant weight compared with a traditional steel crown. That mass is redistributed lower in the head to support the low-CG design while also damping vibration at impact. The result is a noticeably softer, more pleasant sound and feel without sacrificing the low centre of gravity golfers expect from a modern hybrid.
A shallower face profile helps golfers make more consistent contact and launch the ball higher. The face itself is thinner, with an optimised profile that increases ball speed across the centre of the face while protecting speed on off-centre strikes. Together they give the G440 hybrid faster ball speed, a higher peak height and greater distance with more stopping power on landing.
A slimmer back-weight profile lets the head sit flusher to the turf at address. The contoured sole keeps face angle consistent no matter how loft or lie is set in the adjustable hosel, so a fitting change never throws off the face aim. The narrower back-sole profile also improves turf interaction from a variety of lies.
Each loft in the G440 hybrid lineup is engineered for a specific role in the bag. The 2-hybrid is slightly fade-biased with a lower, more piercing flight suited to tee shots and long approaches. The 3- and 4-hybrids carry more loft for a higher launch with a neutral flight and added stopping power, while the 5-, 6- and 7-hybrids add a slight draw bias and higher launch to fly straighter and blend into a set of irons.
For players who need extra help getting the ball airborne, the G440 High Launch (HL) hybrid pairs an aluminium back weight with the lightweight PING ALTA Quick shaft and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip. The combination is built to increase clubhead speed for slower swing speeds, producing a higher launch and longer carry. The HL construction is available from the 3-hybrid through the 7-hybrid.
The counter-balanced PING ALTA CB Blue shaft is lighter, helping to increase clubhead speed and produce a mid-to-high launch. The PING Tour 2.0 Black shaft launches lower with less spin, suiting faster swing speeds, while the PING Tour 2.0 Chrome delivers a low-to-mid ball flight with added control and precision for players seeking more workability.
The Project X Denali Red shaft is counter-balanced for a high launch and mid-level spin, best suited to a moderate swing tempo. The Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black is a low-launch, low-spin option engineered to keep torque low at faster swing speeds, giving better players extra control through impact.

These are design specifications and may vary due to manufacturing tolerances. Lie angle is the average of the five adjustable loft positions marked on the hosel. Achievable swingweights depend on the shaft and grip combination. Standard swingweight for the High Launch (HL) build is C7, available from the 3-hybrid through the 7-hybrid. Left-hand and right-hand models are available across the range.
Standard grip: Golf Pride 360 Tour Velvet.
