Cobra KING Stingray putter

The Cobra KING Stingray is an oversized mallet putter that blends classic styling with modern, high-performance engineering. Built around a single bend hosel and a face-balanced design, it is the ideal choice for golfers who play a straight-back, straight-through putting stroke and demand maximum stability, forgiveness, and roll consistency on every green. At its core, a collaboration with SIK Golf brings patented Descending Loft Technology to an aluminium face insert — ensuring a consistent 1.5° launch angle regardless of attack angle or shaft lean. From the lightweight carbon fibre sole to the heavy-duty 320 g steel chassis, every element of the Stingray is engineered to deliver feel and precision where it matters most.

Key Features

  • Oversize Mallet Shape: Oversized mallet head crafted from 304 stainless steel with a single sightline for improved alignment at address.
  • SIK Aluminum Face Insert: CNC-milled 6061 aluminium insert featuring SIK Golf's patented Descending Loft Technology (DLT) for superior feel and consistent roll.
  • Descending Loft Technology (DLT): Four descending face lofts (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°) deliver a consistent 1.5° launch angle for any stroke or attack angle.
  • Adjustable Weighting: Ships with a single 10 g sole weight, upgradeable by up to +15 g via optional heavier weights (15 g, 20 g, 25 g) sold separately.
  • Carbon Fibre Sole: Lightweight polymer cartridge and carbon fibre sole save 18 g, enabling greater perimeter weighting in combination with the 320 g steel chassis.
  • Single Bend Hosel: Face-balanced hosel configuration delivering 0° of toe hang, purpose-built for straight-back, straight-through putting strokes.
  • Headcover Included: Comes with a matching headcover to protect the putter head during transport and storage.
  • KBS Shaft & SuperStroke Grip: Equipped with a KBS 120 Putter Steel shaft (.370, 120 g) and a SuperStroke Traxion Tour 2.0 grip (55 g) for refined feel and control.

Technology in Detail

Oversize Mallet Shape

The KING Stingray's oversized mallet profile is constructed from premium 304 stainless steel, chosen for its exceptional combination of feel, durability, and precise machinability. The broad, symmetrical footprint naturally resists twisting at impact, producing a high moment of inertia (MOI) that keeps the putter face square through the stroke even on off-centre hits. A single clean sightline runs along the top of the head, making it easy to align the putter accurately to your intended starting line. The result at address is an inspiring, confidence-building shape that helps golfers commit fully to each putt without second-guessing alignment.

SIK Aluminum Face Insert

Working in close collaboration with SIK Golf, Cobra engineered an aluminium face insert milled from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium. Lighter than a steel face, this insert frees up meaningful mass — between 24 g and 35 g depending on the head shape — which is redistributed to the perimeter for additional stability. The aluminium material provides a noticeably soft yet crisp feel at impact, giving golfers excellent tactile feedback on every putt. The insert is precision CNC-milled to exacting tolerances so that the four loft zones of the DLT are perfectly formed and consistent across the entire face.

SIK Descending Loft Technology (DLT)

SIK Golf's patented Descending Loft Technology divides the putter face into four horizontal zones, each with a different loft: 4° at the top, 3° in the upper-centre, 2° in the lower-centre, and 1° at the bottom. This graduated architecture compensates for the natural variation in shaft lean and attack angle from stroke to stroke, ensuring that the ball always leaves the face at the optimal 1.5° launch angle — whether your delivery is ascending, neutral, or descending. The practical result is a truer, more consistent end-over-end roll that begins sooner after impact and tracks more reliably along your intended line, reducing the influence of skid and bounce on the greens.

Adjustable Weighting System

The Stingray ships from the factory with a single 10 g sole weight installed, giving the putter a total head weight of 350 g in its standard configuration. Golfers who prefer a heavier, more pendulum-like feel on longer putts can swap to optional weights of 15 g, 20 g, or 25 g, increasing head weight by up to 15 g. The additional inertia from a heavier weight helps stabilise the stroke on fast greens where tempo control is critical. The interchangeable weight system means the putter can be dialled in over time as your game evolves or course conditions change. Replacement and upgrade weights are sold separately.

Carbon Fibre Sole

A lightweight polymer cartridge combined with a carbon fibre sole plate saves approximately 18 g compared to a traditional all-steel construction. That saved weight is strategically repositioned to the outer perimeter of the heavy 320 g steel chassis, increasing the Stingray's moment of inertia and delivering a higher-forgiveness feel on mis-hits. The multi-material construction — lightweight core, heavyweight steel frame — is the same principle used in premium iron designs and represents a significant engineering achievement in a putter at this price point. The carbon fibre element also adds a premium visual element to the sole, reinforcing the Stingray's bold, high-performance aesthetic.

Single Bend Hosel & Face Balance

The single bend hosel creates a face-balanced putter with 0° of toe hang, which means the face naturally points skyward when the putter is balanced on a finger beneath the shaft. This geometry perfectly complements a straight-back, straight-through (SBST) putting stroke, as the face does not want to open or close through the arc. Golfers with an SBST stroke will find the Stingray promotes consistency, reducing the likelihood of the face rotating open or closed at impact. For players transitioning from a blade to a more forgiving mallet style, the face-balanced single bend configuration provides an intuitive, low-manipulation feel.
