The Dual Wrap carbon construction, combined with Free-Hosel technology, saves weight across the sole, crown, and hosel area simultaneously. That recovered mass is then repositioned lower and deeper within the head, directly enabling ball-speed gains and a record-setting MOI. A 32-gram, high-density tungsten rear weight can be set to one of three positions — Neutral, Draw, or Fade — to shift the centre of gravity and tailor ball speed, launch angle, and spin for the shot shape you need. Moving the weight toward the heel promotes a Draw bias that helps counteract a slice; moving it toward the toe introduces a Fade bias to straighten a hook; keeping it centred delivers a neutral, high-MOI setup. The forged T9S+ titanium face is manufactured thinner than previous generations and features a dual-radius profile that manages loft and spin across the entire hitting surface. By engineering the hosel with a section that is freed from carrying structural weight, PING redistributes that mass lower in the head — achieving the lowest centre of gravity ever built into a PING driver. Placing the CG closer to the impact line helps the head deliver energy more efficiently to the ball, unlocking additional distance and greater forgiveness when finding fairways matters most. This low CG position works in concert with the Dual Carbonfly Wrap to push mass as deep in the head as possible, which is the primary engineering driver behind the G440 K's record total MOI figure. It is one of the most significant structural innovations in the G440 series.
The lightweight, 8-position adjustable hosel enables a fitter — or the golfer themselves — to fine-tune loft by up to ±1.5 degrees and lie by up to 3 degrees flatter than the standard setting, without the need for major re-fitting. These small incremental adjustments can correct a launch angle that is too low or too high, or address a spin rate issue that is costing distance, all without altering the golfer's setup or swing. Trajectory Tuning 2.0 is intended as the final step in the fitting process: the CG Shifter sets the gross shot-shape bias, and the hosel then fine-tunes the exact launch conditions. The result is a driver that can be dialled in precisely to each individual golfer's ball flight, rather than forcing a compromise between available off-the-shelf loft options.
