A record-setting MOI for a PING driver makes the G440 K the straightest and most forgiving model in the lineup, delivering faster ball speeds and CG-shifting adjustability for more distance. The G440 K HL High-Launch build takes this performance further for slower-swing-speed players: a lighter back weight, an ultra-light 46" PING Alta Quick shaft, and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip combine to generate more speed, a higher launch angle, and greater distance off the tee. A lower and deeper CG position is achieved through weight savings from the carbon crown and sole, delivering ball-speed gains and the record-setting MOI that leads to longer and straighter results.
The Dual Carbonfly Wrap and Free-Hosel technology work together to save significant weight from the G440 K's sole, crown, and hosel region. This saved weight is optimally redistributed to the perimeter of the driver head — including the back weight — positioning the CG lower and deeper than any previous PING driver. The result is faster ball speed across the face and a record-setting MOI that delivers the straightest, most forgiving tee shots in PING's history. Free-Hosel technology also increases flexion in the heel section of the face, helping to retain ball speed on mishits struck toward the heel.

The high-density tungsten back weight is adjustable to one of three positions — Neutral, Draw, and Fade — allowing golfers to shift the centre of gravity and optimise ball speed, launch angle, and spin for longer and straighter drives. For the G440 K HL build, a lighter back weight is used to reduce overall system weight, making it easier for slower-swing-speed players to generate faster clubhead speed with less effort. Combined with the Dual Carbonfly Wrap, the CG Shifter enables a level of adjustability that was previously unavailable in a high-MOI PING driver, giving fitters and players the ability to dial in shot shape without sacrificing forgiveness.

The forged T9S+ titanium face is thinner and features a dual-roll radius that optimises spin and increases ball speed across the entire face for greater distance. Its advanced forging process allows for more aggressive face thickness profiling, promoting more flex at impact and retaining ball speed on off-centre strikes. Whether the ball is struck towards the heel, toe, high, or low on the face, the T9S+ construction ensures consistent, high-speed performance across the full hitting area. This technology is a key contributor to the G440 K HL's ability to deliver maximum distance for players with moderate swing speeds.

The confidence-inspiring head shape is PING's largest front-to-back profile in the G440 family, designed to maximise forgiveness on every tee shot. Crown turbulators — raised ridges engineered into the crown — improve aerodynamic efficiency during the downswing, reducing drag and allowing the clubhead to move faster through the impact zone. The result is a measurable gain in clubhead speed without any change in the golfer's swing effort, adding valuable distance for slower-swing-speed players who gain the most from the HL setup.

PING's engineers invested considerable time refining the acoustic properties of the G440 K. A composite crown bridge and internal ribs attached to both the crown and sole work together to dampen unwanted vibrations, delivering a more muted, solid, and satisfying sound at impact. The result is an impact sensation that inspires confidence — neither too sharp nor too hollow — giving players clear feedback on the quality of contact. This carefully tuned sound profile is especially important for golfers who rely on feel as part of their pre-shot routine and post-impact feedback.

PING's Free Hosel technology removes weight from a section of the hosel and reallocates it lower in the head, creating the lowest CG ever achieved in a PING driver. This lower CG is aligned closer to the force line — the direction in which the driver moves through the ball — generating more efficient energy transfer at impact for greater distance. The deeper CG position also contributes to higher MOI, making the club more resistant to twisting on off-centre strikes and increasing the likelihood of finding the fairway. For the HL build in particular, this low CG works in concert with the lighter Alta Quick shaft to deliver the high-launch, high-MOI combination that slower-swing-speed players need.

The lightweight 8-position Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel enables independent adjustments to loft (±1.5°) and lie angle (up to 3° flatter than standard), allowing players and custom fitters to precisely tailor ball flight for optimal distance and accuracy. With five distinct loft positions indicated on the hosel, each can be fine-tuned to match individual swing characteristics. The lie adjustment is particularly beneficial for players whose ball flight tends to curve due to an incorrect impact angle, helping promote a more consistent, on-target shot pattern. All adjustments are tool-assisted and straightforward, requiring no permanent modifications to the club.
The G440 K HL build is specifically engineered to help slower-swing-speed players unlock more speed, a higher launch angle, and greater carry distance. To achieve this, the HL model features a lighter back weight, an ultra-light 46" PING Alta Quick graphite shaft (available in 35-flex at 38g and 45-flex at 45g), and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip. The extended 46" shaft length promotes maximum distance by increasing the effective swing arc, while the lighter overall system weight allows players to generate faster clubhead speed with less effort. The standard swing weight for the HL build is D2 with the 35-flex shaft and D3 with the 45-flex shaft.

The G440 K HL ships standard with the PING Alta Quick graphite shaft, offered in 35-flex (38g) for a very light, fast feel and 45-flex (45g) for a slightly firmer, more controlled option — both tuned for high launch and maximum distance with moderate swing speeds.
For reference, the counter-balanced Alta CB Blue is lighter to help increase clubhead speed with a medium-high to high launch profile. The Tour 2.0 Black delivers a low launch and low spin trajectory suited to faster swing speeds, while the Tour 2.0 Chrome provides a low-to-mid flight with added control and precision.
Aftermarket Shafts: The Project X Denali Red is a balanced shaft delivering a high trajectory with medium-high spin, ideal for moderate swing tempos. The Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black is a low-launch, low-spin option designed to keep torque low during aggressive swings. These shafts are available on request.
